Today’s award goes to road workers in Hertfordshire, England.
All the right letters were there -just not quite in the right order.
Council workmen putting Keep Clear markings on a road got in a muddle and put KEER CLEAP instead.
The 2ft deep letters P and R were switched around 24 hours later, but not before the error had been spotted by residents in the road in Royston, Hertfordshire.
Plumber Paul Brett, 39, was the first to notice it despite the fact that he is dyslexic and struggles with spelling.
He said: ‘It’s quite amusing because I suffer from dyslexia and spotted it before my wife Denise did.’
Mother-of-two Denise, 37, an administrator, said the 2ft high and 5ft wide road markings directly outside their house had kept the whole family entertained.
She said: ‘They must have been quite embarrassed by the whole thing.
‘My husband, who is not the greatest speller, noticed the mistake yesterday and we are still chuckling about it.
‘Perhaps Hertfordshire Highways should employ some road workers that can actually spell.’
There’s more at the link.
It’s awkward when you can’t spell . . . and even worse when your errors are so publicly displayed!

I have half a mind to have that printed on a shirt.
Pretty bad when you're getting jacked up about your spelling by a dyslexic…

Not the first time. Quite a number of years ago the word SOLW was spotted by someone and a photograph appeared in a National newspaper.
I'm always amazed at the spelling mistakes one sees on signs of all types, even those done by people who know better.
Maybe they get so wrapped up in the big letters and mechanics of the thing that they become disoriented.
A constant source of (sometimes blushing) humour.
