Ever heard of the ‘Grail Movement’?

EDITED TO AMEND THIS ARTICLE AS FOLLOWS:

The original reports cited in this article drew attention to a crime reported in June 2008 in the Daily Mail.  It cited alleged links between the criminals involved and the so-called ‘Grail Movement‘.  Subsequent information led to the Daily Mail amending its October 2008 report of the conviction of the criminals and publishing the following correction on March 4th, 2015:

An article published on MailOnline on 24 October 2008, headed “Cannibal cult mother who skinned son and made him eat his own flesh gets 9 years in jail” referred to a connection between the convicted woman and the International Grail Movement.

The Grail Movement has pointed out that: the mother of the victims, who was convicted of the abuse, never had any involvement with the Grail Movement; and that while two of the other individuals involved in the abuse, and one of their fathers, had shown an interest in the Grail Movement some decades ago, these individuals had been informed in 1996 that their self-contained sect were not welcome as followers of the Grail Movement. The Grail Movement has also clarified that its work, teachings and message do not in any way encourage mistreatment or abuse, and never have.

In the light of this correction, I’ve deleted the original text of this blog post.  You’ll find more information at the Daily Mail reports cited above.
