Another “interesting” landing

Here’s a Boeing 737 trying – and initially failing – to land at Prague’s Václav Havel Airport last Tuesday.  Strong crosswinds made it an . . . interesting . . . experience for all concerned.  Watch it in full-screen mode for best results.

I’m glad they made it down on the second attempt. By then, the passengers must have been getting a little airsick!

  1. A friend who recently retired from airline service – his second retirement, the first was from naval aviation – said he was completely spoiled because "the deck is always facing into the wind" and as a result of those years hates crosswind landings. He also believes Boeing could benefit from learning about arresting hooks…..

  2. If I'd been on that plane and sitting on a dime, I could've given you nine cents change right then!

  3. The title says 13 knot winds. There must have been a freak gust involved in the first attempt; I can easily land my very-light RV-12 in a direct 13 knot crosswind.
