Today’s award goes to a somewhat befuddled car thief in Chicago.
A Grand Crossing man stole a towing company’s truck and then called 911 himself because he was upset that the truck’s driver dared to pull a gun on him, prosecutors said.
Elliott Scott, 22, is charged with aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle, misdemeanor theft, and driving on a suspended or revoked license.
“Mr. Scott called 911?” a befuddled Judge Charles Beach asked prosecutors after hearing their allegations.
“Yeah,” Scott interjected. “Right.”
Scott’s defense attorney quickly advised him, “it’s not best to talk about the charges” in court.

Talk about making life easy for the cops! What on earth was he thinking?
Peter
He was thinking, "I have a problem. You have a problem, you dial 9-1-1." Like much of his generation he appears to unaware of the existence of any human agency in his universe; everything is a mechanism. Welcome to Midwich.

LOL
Reminds me of a Judge Judy clip where the thieves told the judge an item the plaintiff claimed as stollen was not in her book bag.
You know I always hear about low IQ from certain countries of origin. And stories like this make it hard to refute low cultural IQ stuff.
Another Joe Biden voter …

"Scott, 22, has no criminal background." Sure. Tell me another. He may not be officially in the system but I'd bet this isn't his first time around the block. Of course, I could be wrong and this was a slip up between his pre-law classes at the local JC.
Considering what Groot and co. have done to Chicago, is it really so shocking that a criminal was surprised police actually bothered to arrest him?
