Our Doofus today is someone in Saudi Arabia.
It seems that the Royal Saudi Air Force wanted to display one of its old Tornado F3 aircraft on a plinth outside the airbase at Tabuk. They duly stripped out the engines and removable bits and pieces, leaving the aircraft weighing anywhere from 12-15 tons (estimates differ). (Click the pictures for a larger view.)
They then brought in a crane to lift it onto the plinth. Our Doofus award goes to whoever decided to use this particular crane!
I wonder if they’ll paint a crane victory symbol beneath the cockpit of the Tornado?

how do you say “booger eating moron” in Arabic?
Shoulda used an AirCrane.
We had a F-18 all ready to go up as a pedestal jet, and it got halfway into position before gravity took offense to the idea.
