I recently came across a French Web site with a number of very interesting photographs showing the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco from 1933-37. Here are a few examples.

And painting it is a FULL TIME job, it's never finished… When they get done, it's time to go back and start over! Friend's dad worked 40 years painting that bridge and he had quite a few stories…
