Is the European “refugee crisis” a deliberate progressive setup?

It seems that the European “refugee” crisis is perhaps not so much a natural “crisis” as a deliberate attempt to use human misery as a tool to overturn government policy.  Breitbart reports:

Billionaire investor George Soros has confirmed he wants to bring down Europe’s borders, following the accusation made last week by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

Last week, Mr Orban accused Mr Soros – who was born in Hungary – of deliberately encouraging the migrant crisis.

“This invasion is driven, on the one hand, by people smugglers, and on the other by those (human rights) activists who support everything that weakens the nation-state,” Mr Orban said.

“This Western mindset and this activist network is perhaps best represented by George Soros.”

Mr Soros has now issued an email statement to Bloomberg Business, claiming his foundations help “uphold European values”, while Mr Oban’s actions in strengthening the Hungarian border and stopping a huge migrant influx “undermine those values.”

“His plan treats the protection of national borders as the objective and the refugees as an obstacle,” Mr Soros added. “Our plan treats the protection of refugees as the objective and national borders as the obstacle.”

. . .

George Soros is a firm backer of transnational bodies such as the European Union, and his Open Society Foundation (OSF) provides assistance for pro-migration activists. He is well-known for his support for “progressive” causes such as the Centre for American Progress, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

Have you seen any mention of this in the mainstream media?  I certainly haven’t . . . but I’m not in the least surprised, either by their deafening silence, or by Soros’ using the refugees’ misery for his own political ends.  He almost certainly doesn’t really give a damn about them, probably seeing them as nothing more than a tool to be used to apply pressure to get his preferred policies approved.  As soon as that’s happened, he’ll probably drop the refugees like a hot potato, because he’ll have no further use for them.

I’d love to know how much Mr. Soros is doing to ensure a progressive/left-wing victory in next year’s US presidential election.  I suspect it involves billions of dollars, at the very least, and a great many organizations overtly or covertly sponsored and/or controlled by him and his ‘fellow travelers‘.  In the light of what he’s doing in Europe, I also wonder how much of the current illegal alien influx into this country is actively supported by him and those like him.  I suspect they’re behind a great deal of it.

  1. While I agree that Soros is behind a whole bunch of stuff going on nowadays, I'm just not sure I understand why he's pushing so hard any more. He's nearly pushing up daisie, so I can't imagine he's expecting to enjoy the fruits of his efforts. So what's his motivation? His kids, or is someone much younger pushing him to do these things?
Or is he just that evil?

  2. At the rate he's getting the Nationalists stirred up in Germany, he'll soon have enough of them to collaborate with…… just like he did in WW2.

    NAZI loving pick.

  3. Dear Peter
You have to understand some of the dynamics from a European/German perspective before understanding Mr Soros’s position.
    1. Germany has a huge problem of an aging population. This is reducing the supply of Labour and driving up wages in Germany for the good of Blue Collar Workers at the expense of Capital. Instead of encouraging southern Europeans to move north (most of whom do not want to leave warm southern Europe or leave family) to counter the 25% unemployment in Greece etal the Government decided that skilled Syrians/Iraq’s/Afghans was a cheaper option to drive down wages.
    2. The huge guilt felt by large sections still in Germany for the Second World War and the atrocities committed there.
    3. The fact that most of the people who vocally support this action across the whole of Europe are very well off. So new immigration does not threaten their wealth or income. In fact it makes things cheaper such as Nannies and Plumbers. In the 2000’s in the UK we had a mass movement of Poles to the UK, which drove down the cost of Plumbers as an example. So in London where you could earn £20 ($30) an hour as a Plumber earning £800 to £1000 a week it went down to £7 near minimum wage or about £350 for a 50hr week. My richer friends were over the moon that they were saving thousands of pounds on extensions and renovations of their houses. It didn’t cross their minds the damage done in communities across the East and South East of England as whole towns where the working population commuted in to London to do this type of work suffered a 50% cut in income. It’s now being repeated with economic migrants from Africa and Arabia/Persia.
So that is why Mr Soros’s does what he does, because for him it is a no brainer he sees no difference between a Syrian Plumber and one from Essex, he has no concept of the idea of looking out for your own, making sure your own people are OK before he starts helping anybody else. If your income gets destroyed, your prospects of owning a house or getting on in life disappear in his view that is a price worth paying.
In the long term the top 5% of the earning population wants to see no difference (the movers and shakers, newspaper journalists who leave small towns behind, the Venture Capitalists, Bankers) they want a position where everybody else is as poor as Africa. They are with open Labour Markets driving the ultra-capitalists utopia of the perfect Labour Market of oversupply of 6bn human beings driving down wages to very low levels of Sub Saharan Africa so that Capital can make more money for them. The problem is that unlike a majority Protestant European Labour Force a lot of other religions and social groups are a little more inclined to grab hold of the pitch fork (and in modern day parlance the AK47) and over throw the rich with revolutions. In my view the ultra-rich such as Mr Soros really need to think along with Cheap Labour they are importing as they are also importing the instability and revolutionary parts of those cultures as well.
In 20yrs time it will be interesting to see what the One Percentres think when the mob comes for them, that maybe unchecked immigration was not such a great idea, and fondly remember the days they could walk around the Streets without armed Guards with the risk of their kids being kidnapped, just like major parts of Africa, The Middle East, Moscow and S America are like today.
But hey I’m just a heartless little Englander who thinks his School friends who are people who are working hard with their brains and hands deserve a little protection from slave labour, but then my piers of taday have no concept of a hard days graft they have never had to do one all the way from Private Prep School to University Graduation paid for with Daddies Dollar.

  4. Its been mentioned before, but have you noticed that the actor who played the Emperor and Soros have a striking simularity ?

Its pretty despicable to use people to serve your own agenda. Far worse to manipulate events to do the same.

  5. Captain Schmoe beat me to it – given the damage already done to Western Civilization by Soros, his minions and his money and the continuing threat he poses, I do not understand why he is still alive.

Perhaps this latest immigration adventure may change that.

  6. Wandering neurons-Have you ever seen any of the leftist, progressive s**t stop once the pusher dies? Nope! I believe this sickness has more of a spiritual component then we want to think.
    Steve

  7. Obviously Soros is being incredibly harmful with his agenda and his billions. But his ideology is shared by probably most of the elites.

  8. But his ideology is shared by probably most of the elites.

Completely true. But "most of the elites" either don't have the money to make significant progress advancing the ideology or they don't want to part with significant amounts of what they do have, Bloomberg, perhaps, excepted. There's little doubt someone would step into Soros' shoes when he shuffles off this mortal coil; I'd assume his ideology is strong enough that he's groomed a successor, which would be a similar problem seeking resolution.

  9. Y'know, no sooner do I convince myself that Vox is unhinged, then I find corroborating evidence on other, calmer blogs. sigh …

  10. Steve,
Totally agree, the BS never seems to slow down even after the pusher dies. Take out a Mafia capo, another steps into his shoes. Take out a drug lord, another fills the void. Write a stupid law (Obamacare anyone?) and it'll never get repealed.
But I don't understand the mindset that drives someone such wanton destruction. It's not like he's a politician/ruler like Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, etc. They at expected to enjoy the fruits of their plans, whereas Soros is, what, 75 years old or more? How much longer is he expecting to live, to enjoy what he's done. Think his kids will appreciate what he's done, or will they just misuse the money and power like the Hiltons or Saddam Hussein's sons?

  11. Freddie, Vox ain't unhinged. Unfortunately, he's the voice of reason these days.

people like Soros should be rotting in prison, instead being allowed to run loose.

  12. Yep, I'm slowly learning that Vox is the canary in the coal mine. I've been startled and amused at how his topics are creeping out into MSM and other blogs.

  13. Perhaps someone could explain why George Soros has put $400,000 into a campaign for a District Attorney candidate in Caddo Parish, Louisiana?
Caddo Parish has enough problems without the legal officers owing someone like Soros favors.
