In meteorological terms, it's a lenticular cloud. I've seen much smaller versions above growing thunderstorms.
Yes, lenticular clouds, from the word for "lentil" in Latin, "lens." (also where the word for "lens" comes from when talking optics). We see them a lot over Mt Rainer in WA state.
