The idle musings of a former military man, former computer geek, medically retired pastor and now full-time writer. Contents guaranteed to offend the politically correct and anal-retentive from time to time. My approach to life is that it should be taken with a large helping of laughter, and sufficient firepower to keep it tamed!
I've heard that English was in invented so that Norman soldiers could seduce Saxon bar maids
My Glock 21 sits on my nightstand every night. The first thing I do when I wake up to let the dogs out is to secure it so THAT does not happen. I have a one year old Rhodesian Ridgeback that would make my gun look like that one.
Awesome collections, I nearly drowned in my coffee laughing.
Cat sniper tower and the Momma Owl were the best.
Laughter gives you perspective, like just now I was mildly annoyed I had to re-start my washing machine but then decided to run my fingers over the Ole Washboard and said to my self (cleaned up version) shut up idiot be happy.
"My favorite part of winter is watching it from Arizona." Well, I've seen it from Minot, ND, and it coulda been worse. Now Arizona, one night on alert duty in my Launch Control Center north of Tucson, our topside intrusion alarms went off. I and one of my enlisted crew members were told to put on our pistols and go check topside. 6" of snow on the ground, and snow in the horns surrounding the launcher closure door, and the only footprints were ours. Went back down, reported what we'd seen and done. The relief crew got in about noon; we briefed and transferred control to them, and sloooooowly drove back to the base. That was in the early '70s.
Winter in Arizona…Depends on where you are sitting in AZ. Phoenix Metro Area is pretty nice, only occasional snow flurries. Up in the mountains…be prepared.
