Miss D. and I will be on the road this weekend, traveling to and from the wedding of friends a few hundred miles away. I probably won’t have time to blog, so don’t expect to see the usual Saturday Snippet and/or Sunday Morning Music posts over the next two days. Regular blogging will resume (God willing) on Monday.

A friend, who is a teacher, has a student whose father served in the Russian Army made the comment that the 23 Feb invasion was predictable. It is a national holiday in Russia called "Defenders of the Fatherland" that honors WWII veterans and heroic soldiers.
Putin thrives in heroic history and perhaps had the day in mind when he ordered the invasion.
