1. Good question, along with all the 'other' issues… Short work weeks, long vacations, August off, etc…

  2. …part of the country that still resents what happened in the 1100s, and in the 1789-92, and would prefer to speak its own language…

  3. I bet there are 3 or 4 whines for each type of cheese – like the students who planned to protest the election no matter who won.

On a side note, I suspect there are at least 20 Wines for each cheese!

  4. The same could be asked about this country…how many named beers are in the US? We went out for supper tonight to a bar as the burgers were only $6 (usually much more) and there were 20 beer on tap alone.

Maybe that explains a lot of the past 2 years?

  5. Whoever came up with the expression, "cheese-eating surrender-monkeys" was a genius.

There are a few people living back there who "get it", but most – probably denizens of the bigger cities, just like the cities in many of our states force liberal laws and values on us rural folks – are so detached from reality that they deserve what they are going to get.

  6. The statists who govern France would probably prefer that there be only one cheese (you will like it!)as this would simplify their jobs and allow longer vacations. Kinda reminds me of Mussolini's answer to the question of did he find it difficult to govern the Italian people:"Difficult? It's not difficult, it's pointless!"

I believe there's an underlying current of capitalism in most of us that makes being a dictator difficult without a large government bureaucracy and prison system to keep us in check.
