Thinking back to when I used to make gunpowder and enjoy a small explosion now and again, or to when I made sulfur filled stink bombs, or burned the flesh of of dead critters with acid to see the bones, and the like, all I can think is that would have made for a fun eighth grade experiment, or for a bit of mischief for a young teenager in my day. Amazingly, it seemed to be done in front of what appeared to be a college or at least high school senior audience today. I think it just shows more evidence that kids today have truly been deprived of the fun they should be having at the age they should be having it.
