Here’s a bit of visual and musical whimsy for you. Actor Sean Bean played Richard Sharpe in the made-for-TV movies of Bernard Cornwell‘s well-known series of novels. He also played Boromir in the film adaptation of Tolkien’s ‘The Lord of the Rings‘.
Someone has taken footage of Boromir from the latter movie, and combined it with the iconic song from the Sharpe series, ‘Over the Hills and Far Away‘. It’s fun to see – and hear – the juxtaposition.

The sharpe series is one of my all time favorites, so I am am somewhat ambigous on this.

Actually yes. Several in the Sharpe's series came out after Fellowship of the Rings. Love the Cornwell books, and enjoyed the series as well.
Sean Bean is one of those actors who has enough onscreen presence and charisma that it is easy to miss that there is actual acting going on. He's not Marlon Brando, but he's a different kind of actor. I think he'd hold his own with the likes of Robert Duval or Tommy Lee Jones. He certainly shares the screen with some pretty accomplished actors in his various roles. He's no slouch at acting.
the books are good…the old pbs series good….sharpe and harper and the chosen men on their forlorn hope charges…good stuff!
I still think the greatest horror movie that could be made is a M Night Shyamalan flick staring Sean Bean, and the unexpected twist at the end is that… he survives.
