Very small things, brought into focus

The Daily Mail has published some fascinating photographs of things so small that they’re normally invisible. The pictures were taken using a transmission electron microscope, which can magnify up to a million times larger than life-size. Here are a couple of the images to whet your appetite. They’ve been cropped and reduced in size to fit this blog.

The head of an Oak Processionary caterpillar, showing its poisonous hairs

The head of a hydrothermal worm

There are more images at the link. Very interesting viewing.
