50 years ago today . . .

. . . the so-called ‘Great Train Robbery‘ took place in England.  A gang stopped a Royal Mail train between Glasgow and London and made off with more than 2.6 million pounds (equivalent to more than £46 million today, or about US $71.5 million).

Here’s Ronnie Biggs‘ biographer, who co-authored a recent book about the robbery with some of the surviving thieves, discussing the crime.
