I was amused to discover this video clip from the British TV program Top Gear. In it, a McLaren Speedtail sports car is pitted against one of Britain’s STOVL F-35B strike aircraft. It’s a lot of fun.
Boys and their toys indeed . . .

The idle musings of a former military man, former computer geek, medically retired pastor and now full-time writer. Contents guaranteed to offend the politically correct and anal-retentive from time to time. My approach to life is that it should be taken with a large helping of laughter, and sufficient firepower to keep it tamed!

Sehr KUHL!!
Fabulous! Someone in the BBC must want their ratings boosted by getting the nasty warmongers, er, brave zhirs, to sped a buncha pounds and a flight hour on free advertising for the RAF.
One day out for a ride on my BMW K1200RS – 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds. Not the fastest bike around but it’s got no flies on it.
I pulled up to a 4-way stop and a guy in a McLaren turned right in front of me. I’d never seen one IRL before and I saw his exhaust blow as he hit the throttle. So, WTH, I rolled the throttle, too.
Not. Even. Close.
I went home and looked up the time on that model McLaren. 2.9 seconds.
Having said that, my bike cost about 1/50th of the McLaren.
Were they speaking English? What kind of accents were those? I got about 40% comprehension.
Anyway a lot of fun and good PR for the RAF.
it wasn't a drag race. it was a time to climb to five thousand meters race.
Top Gear have done this sort of thing before, with a Typhoon.

Right then. Now lets do vertical.
Reminds me of an old Lee Majors movie, "The Last Chase". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnuVxQG6e9Q
