A press release from the National Shooting Sports Foundation reports that “Citi Merchant Services and First Data Corp. are refusing to process any credit card transactions between federally licensed firearms retailers, distributors and manufacturers — a move which will severely limit available inventory of firearms and ammunition to military, law enforcement and law-abiding Americans.”
If you, like me, value your Constitutional rights and freedoms and refuse to allow faceless corporations to dictate to us their likes and/or dislikes of those rights and freedoms, may I suggest that this calls for action?
I’ll be contacting Citi (contact details provided in the press release linked above) and I’ll also mention this to the groups with whom I speak over the next few weeks. If Citi doesn’t want my legal business in one area I see no reason why they should have it in any area.
Peter
EDITED TO ADD: The link above seems to be down (on the NSSF site, not my blog). The letter from Citi can be viewed at this thread on The High Road forum.
This news is spreading fast. I hope we can collectively exert enough pressure to show Citi the error of its ways.
I just passed this information on to 2 of my FFL friends and the rest of my gun owner friends that might not know about it.
Thanks for the posting this.

And CMS’ parent, Citi Group or whatever, has just lost $10 bill and is seeking mid-east / asian bailout.
