  1. I watched a program on NHK where they were getting the bits of a windfarm up a similarly twisty road. I suspect the loads were lighter but of similar length and they had, amongst other things, tunnels to navigate. They definitely had a custom machine to do the work because it could raise and lower the load so as to pass over/under various obstacles. And yes they did model it in advance, and they got the power company to take down a couple of electricity poles for the night etc.

    This is the sort of delivery that would be ideally served from a heavy lift airship. The problem of course is that it would be a nightmare handling the unloading in a controlled fashion so that the airship didn't hurtle skywards
