True. Damnably true.

Currently circulating on the Internet (click the image for a larger view):

Truer words have never been spoken, particularly given the news that “the Defense Department was aware of the identity of the suicide bomber who struck outside the Kabul Airport in Afghanistan last week, and in fact had a lock on him but were denied permission to take him out“.

If true, those responsible for that denial are also responsible for the deaths of those 13 Marines.  Let them explain themselves to the families who lost loved ones.

May our honored dead rest in peace.  Their leaders may have regarded them as expendable, but we do not.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

  1. It's a tragedy that these Marines died for nothing and it was probably preventable, but I will never believe Afghanistan or Iraq has a damn thing to do with any freedoms I allegedly have here in the US.

I always hate this stupidity about 'fighting for freedom' when the federal government works daily, at the behest of both parties, to destroy the 2nd Amendment, loot me via taxes and inflation, and is imprisoning non violent protestors from January 6th.

Maybe if the military was being used to repel immigrant invaders, I'd be more optimistic.

Anyway, it sickens me how many young people have died or maimed for the stupidity of Iraq and Afghanistan over the last 20 years and any politician who voted for this should be stripped of their net worth and sent to a concentration camp. Or maybe have one or two of their body parts removed.
