“Cuties” and pedophilia in the movies

I’ve been nauseated to read about (and see occasional clips from) Netflix’s new move “Cuties“.  Frontpage magazine summarizes it:

Cuties (originally Mignonnes), which debuted Thursday on Netflix, is the story of Amy, 11, a Senegalese girl growing up in Paris who rebels against her conservative Muslim immigrant family and seeks the approval of a bullying quartet of fellow 11-year-old girls who are absolutely clueless about sex but who nevertheless believe dressing and acting like prostitutes is the key to popularity (the ages of the actresses at the time of filming are unclear, but reportedly range from 11-14). Their aimless lives center on rehearsing sexed-up choreography to a rap song for a local dance contest.

As Amy becomes desperate to escape the stultifying, traditional expectations of the women in her family, she exhibits increasingly wanton behavior, such as posting a pic of her genitalia on social media and teaching the other girls how to rev up their dance routine by twerking (if you are mercifully ignorant about twerking, it’s a very popular move derived from strip-club lap dancing, in which females squat and shake their rear ends up and down like primates presenting themselves for mating; needless to say, this is wildly inappropriate for pre-teens). The movie culminates in an extended, raunchy dance performance in which the camera lingers repellently on the scantily-clad little girls’ pelvic gyrations, come-hither looks, and suggestive touching – of themselves and each other.

During the performance, Amy is horrified onstage by the sudden revelation of what she has become, and she turns her back on both that downward spiral and her family’s traditions, to find liberation in her own identity. But the transcendent ending of self-purification and newfound innocence feels utterly tacked-on, and it is too little, too late to rescue the film from the sense that we have been trapped in a pedophile’s dream.

There’s more at the link.

Courtesy of Breitbart, here are some (thankfully censored) screen captures from the movie.

This is nothing more or less than an entertainment industry-sanctioned depiction of pedophile fantasies.  It can’t possibly be labeled as anything else, despite vigorous efforts by those promoting it to claim that the movie has redeeming values.  If it does, then monkeys picking excrement out of their butts and flinging it at each other is also morally uplifting.  I’d better be careful what I say, though:  the latter might just turn on some of the weirder pedophiles whom I had the misfortune to meet behind bars as a prison chaplain.

The mind-blowing thing about this movie is that so many critics have defended it. As Breitbart points out:

As of right now, a full 88 percent of critics approve of Cuties, Netflix’s piece of soft-core child pornography, while only three percent of the audience agree.

That’s not a typo.

Three percent.

Over the years, I’ve seen some wide gulfs between audience and critic at Rotten Tomatoes, but that probably takes the cake and the pie and the whole enchilada.

Keep in mind, Rotten Tomatoes has worked hard to game these scores to protect its Hollywood masters, and still it’s 88 to three.

So, despite what the fake media are telling you about criticism of Cuties coming only from the close-minded and unenlightened political right, Cuties is not proving to be at all divisive, at least not among real people. A full 1,047 audience members voted on Cuties, which means 1,047 of everyday people took the time to log an opinion, and only three percent gave it a thumbs up. That works out to a terrible approval score of less than one percent — 0.69 percent, to be precise.

Again, more at the link.

I’ve been particularly sickened by Netflix’s call for us to watch the movie before we judge it.  Their arguments are self-serving and specious.  Friends, if I want to judge the efficiency and effectiveness of our city’s sewage plant, why would I swim in the raw effluent to do so?  So, too, this movie.  It’s entertainment sewage.  Why should I let it splash all over me?  I have more self-respect than that.

This is yet another example of the entertainment industry trying to condition our minds to accept the unacceptable:  to move the “Overton window” of social and cultural acceptability from where it is, to where they want it to be.  It’s the latest in a long, long line of such developments.  In the past century we’ve seen it move from eugenics, to birth control, to abortion, to pornography, to homosexuality, to transsexuality, and now to the legitimization of pedophilia.

If, after becoming aware of this movie and what it portrays and seeks to normalize, you still have a Netflix subscription (or are considering getting one), you’re either so deaf, dumb and blind to reality that you deserve pity, or you’ve allowed yourself to be conditioned for so long that your conscience is no longer functional.

Why has Netflix not already been forced to withdraw this movie by its outraged customers canceling their subscriptions?

And what does that say about our society?

I’ll leave it to you to answer those questions.  I already have in my own mind, and I’m trying to wash the fetid stench from my nostrils and the foul taste from my mouth.

Frankly, if very bad things were to happen to every adult who approved, or helped to make, or paid for, or helped to market, this movie, it would be no more than poetic justice, as far as I’m concerned.  They deserve it.  As for the parents who allowed their little girls to act in such a production . . . words fail me – almost as much as those parents have failed their daughters.

  1. I cancelled our Netflix subscription last year due to their cancelling good shows with a known track record and replacing them with weird, violent "Netflix originals" that I couldn't stomach.

Unfortunately I'm not surprised to hear that Netflix supports videos like this – it is the logical progression of their past behavior.

I don't know if material like this is what they want to show, or what they feel they need to show to keep subscribers… early on, Netflix was the only game in streaming and they had a huge portion of the market. But now other services are growing, and many content owners have been pulling their content from Netflix to direct viewers to their own services. Netflix is losing more viewers than it is gaining at this point, and many in the industry don't believe their viewership numbers – I HOPE that showing garbage like this is their last gasp and not what we will see widely in the future, but I doubt that is the case.

  2. The same people have been pushing the same degeneracy for more than a century and whenever is seems to have been stamped out, it springs back up again. A lot of us tend to make the mistake of seeing Netflix, Hollywood in general, the music industry, sports, etc as forms of entertainment when they are in fact more aptly seen as propaganda engines.

  3. Netflix also has a habit of ramming the homosexual agenda down our throats every chance it gets; usually about halfway through the first season.

Vote with your feet, folks. Set the "ON/OFF" button on your TV to the "OFF" position… …"0/I" to "0" on newer models…

  4. I read somewhere that the movie is French in origin. Ah….those French. So sophisticated…so..continental. Probably one of the thumbs up on Rotten Tomatoes is from French citizen Roman Polanski, who approves of this message.

  5. Coming from a background in Law Enforcement as one of those unknown civilians who do all the deep delving for some cop (backgrounds, records, locations, vehicles etc) I discovered that there are very strict Federal (and many states) guidelines and regulations that say exactly what child porn is. And from what little I've seen, "Cuties" far surpasses all the fenceposts that mark the boundary between 'unsettling' and 'obscene.'

Subtle way to tell. If you made this movie in your backyard, how many FBI and other federal cops along with state and local cops and maybe a few international ones thrown in for fun would come busting in your door and drag you away with your face splattered on national and international news?

But, yet, Hollyweird and it's foreign equivalents get away with it?

    Just say NON!

I was a little unsettled by "Blue Lagoon" (which I thought at the time was a pedophile's wet dream) and "Taxi Driver" (which was just disturbing on many levels, but the child prostitution scenes were… very disturbing) and other films. But "Cuties" so far goes past that.

And to try to redeem the movie by making it a moral play between the purity of Islam and the nasty kafirs? WTHeck?

And to really bake your noodles, in many islamic cultures, girls that young ARE sexual objects, especially non-islamic girls (where doing things to them doesn't violate any tenet of the islamic religion, actually it is encouraged by many of them) so this movie is a great movie from an islamic standpoint (well, except for the young Senegalese girl who is damned for life for exposing herself and her family can only remove the shame by a nice, peaceful mercy killing.)

So, pro-Islamic culture movie made in France about France and starring lots of little overly sexualized children and some idiot thought they should bring it over here.

    Yeah…

    No…

Heads should roll, in a good old Christian Crusade fashion. In this case, the phrase "Kill them all, God will know his own" might result, after the death of thousands, of just a few going upstairs to see and answer to the Big Guy Himself.

And, yes, I have seen real child 'soft' porn in my time of working with cops. This movie? Soft Porn starring children. No doubt about it.

  6. This was the final straw for me. I cancelled Netflix a couple weeks ago.
This isn't the first – Netflix also paid for an original series called Big Mouth. And then there was the movie about gay Jesus bringing his boyfriend home to meet Mary that came out for Christmas. (pun intended) And all the other gay shows about gays people doing gay things. And all the other shows with gay people doing gay things inserted into them. (pun fully intended)

  7. Definitely the last straw. Just cancelled my Netflix sub. Thanks for the push. I'd been on the fence, because they have some fascinating documentaries, but that's just not worth supporting child pornography and overtly anti-Christian programs. Most of their "Netflix Originals" wind up being grotesquely freakish.

  8. From Frank Zappa, circa 1973:

    "I am gross and perverted
    I'm obsessed 'n deranged
    I have existed for years
    But very little has changed
I'm the tool of the Government
    And industry too
For I am destined to rule
    And regulate you

I may be vile and pernicious
    But you can't look away
I make you think I'm delicious
With the stuff that I say
I'm the best you can get
    Have you guessed me yet?
    I'm the slime oozin' out
    From your TV set

You will obey me while I lead you
And eat the garbage that I feed you
Until the day that we don't need you
Don't go for help . . . no one will heed you
    Your mind is totally controlled
It has been stuffed into my mold
And you will do as you are told
Until the rights to you are sold

    That's right, folks
    Don't touch that dial

Well, I am the slime from your video
Oozin' along on your livin' room floor
I am the slime from your video
Can't stop the slime, people, lookit me go
I am the slime from your video
Oozin' along on your livin' room floor
I am the slime from your video
Can't stop the slime, people, lookit me go"

So was Zappa just ahead of his time or does it just seem worse now? I've said for years that if you want to know what the voice of the Devil sounds like, just turn on a TV set. Satan speaks.

  9. To give you an idea of how contemptible this crap was, 4chan mods are refusing to let people post ANY stills from it.

    4chan, for crying out loud.

There are other problems, of course — like a story that goes nowhere (seriously, the story ends with the idiot Senegalese girl going back to her family like nothing happened). But the elephant in the room is the — let's not mince words here — kiddie pr0n. Because that's really what this amounts to.

And there is NO WAY nobody realized this. People had to sit down and say, 'Y'know what our viewers in America would enjoy? A coming of age story involving 11 year old prepubescent girls twerking and simulating sex acts on the floor! That's what they want!'.

How far out do you have to be to think like that? What kind of drugs are involved? How much brain damage is required?

  10. Cancelled last week and told them Cuties was the reason. Apparently there is an eight-fold increase in cancellations, so maybe there is hope.

  11. This film would surely shock the conscience of Maurice Chevalier. In the instance of "Cuties", I am certain that Justice Stewart would have altered his phrase to be, "But I know it when I see it, and the motion picture involved in this case is" most certainly that.
