That’s how the blurb describes “Troll Bridge“, a fan-made movie drawn from the late Sir Terry Pratchett‘s short story of that name, part of his Discworld series of novels. If you’re a fan of that fictional world and its stories, you’ll love this! I mean . . . how could anyone not respond to a character named “Cohen the Barbarian”?
It remains a sadness that Sir Terry died too young. Just think how many more stories like that died with him!

Watched it this past weekend with the wife. We have previously watched "The Hogfather" so she wasn't totally in the dark. She has declared we need to get ALL the books now. It also helped that I have an anthology collection that contains the short story.
I agree and go further.
What a disgusting thing the BBC did to his Night Watch and passes off under the name of Terry Pratchett. Tar and feathers would be good for all of them there at the BBC.
That was surprising ly good. I did like the barbs.
"Going Postal" was probably the last faithful Discworld movie, and even that one triggered a ton of discussion by casting red-head Charles Dance as black-haired Vetinari. The consensus is his characterization was spot-on.
Note it was NOT done by the BBC.
Yep, well done to all! It was a very nice tribute!
Please, don't let me detain you. 🙂
I miss the wonderfulness that was Terry.
"Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life." -Terry Pratchett, Jingo
Terry certainly is missed, and will continue to be.
Note that, long before Discworld, there was a "Cohen the Barbarian" in the masquerade at Discon II (the 1974 Worldcon, in Washington DC). There's a photo at http://dd-b.net/cgi-bin/picpage.pl/dd-b/SnapshotAlbum/data/1974/08300-Discon-II?pic=ddb%20197409%20100-25
(Note the weapon — there is no substance known to man harder than a stale bagel.)
Legendary Barbarian, Mr. Cohen.
I rewatched "Going Postal" recently.
"The Colour Of Magic" movie is also pretty good.
Been thinking of re-reading the books.
Brilliantly done!
Once I've moved everything to my own server and have no Google(troll) account, I suppose I won't be able to post comments here.
That was good. I especially liked the little ditty at the end when the credits were running.
