Yes, I know that lotteries are generally (and justifiably) referred to as a form of ‘stupid tax‘, but this advertisement for the Georgia Lottery had me laughing out loud.
At least the commercial wasn’t stupid!

The idle musings of a former military man, former computer geek, medically retired pastor and now full-time writer. Contents guaranteed to offend the politically correct and anal-retentive from time to time. My approach to life is that it should be taken with a large helping of laughter, and sufficient firepower to keep it tamed!

The ads have to be juvenile because they must appeal to the people who actually believe they are the ONE in 5 million.
Fairy Tales!
+1 on Toejam, and yeah pretty cute commercial! 🙂
Washington State commercial gave the usual disclaimer, "Odds of winning, one in 3,500,000. Considerable higher if you don't buy a ticket".
Geeze guys, lighten up. It's just a buck.
My sister gives out scratch-off tickets as stocking stuffers at Christmastime. One of my other sisters won $500 on one of them a couple of years ago, and every year someone wins at least a few dollars here and there. The whole family enjoys it.
Yeah, I know. The odds are long that you are going to hit the big one and it's definitely not a good retirement plan. Still – it's just a buck.
