1. How do you think it compares to terminal lance? (was this the blog I picked up that comic from?)

Man they're going to have to do a centralized military comics roll somewhere.

  2. I'm a field tech in the phone company currently on light duty. They bundled us cripples into a office we call the Island of Misfit Toys and have us calling customers. Field techs usually try hard to have as little contact with customers as possible. Splicers and others barely have any and like it that way. This is kinda what our little corner of the company is like.

True story. One day a co-worker came up to me and we had this exchange:

    "What did you do?"

    "What. Did. You. Do?"

    "What are you talking about?"

"I went to a job, and as soon as I showed my ID the customer curled up into a ball and started crying."

"What does that have to do with me?"

"Turns out you were the last one out there, and you traumatized him. (Describes the customer) What. Did. You. Do?"

"Doesn't ring any bells. Look, the day I entered his life is one he'll never forget. To me, it was Tuesday."

I probably should note that most customers love me, because I'm often the third, fourth, fifth, or more, tech out there, but I actually get things fixed. At the time this happened, I was working in Greenwich Village and Chelsea, where things are a bit…different.

Let's just say I saw a lot of things I wish I could unsee, and I was much more 'tolerant' before than after. While I tend to be stoic, I've never been known to put up with…indignities…as well as the zeitgeist says I should.

Honestly, from his recollection of what I did, it was pretty mild. The guy was just so 'sensitive' and weak that any constructive criticism without hours of verbal buttressing to his ego shattered him. I mean, I'm pretty sure I didn't call him stupid. I probably told him an idea or something he did was stupid, but I also would've told him *why* it was stupid.

    I'm helpful like that.
